HOLD UP - WHAT’S A YOGA STUDENT TRAINING?

You’ve heard of a YTT, but what’s a YST?

A teacher training is an incredible way to deep-dive into yoga. Even if you don’t want to teach, it’s still a fantastic experience with enormous benefits.

But it’s also a big financial investment and serious time commitment, which isn’t ideal if your main goal is to deepen your personal practice.

That’s where my new yoga student training comes in.

It’s a one-week yoga immersion designed to bridge the gap between weekly classes and a 200 hour training.

My YTT teaches you to be a skilled yoga teacher.

My YST teaches you to be a skilled yoga student.

THIS IMMERSION WILL TEACH YOU:

✔ How to be a compassionate and inquisitive yoga student - both on and off the mat.

✔ How to fall in love with yoga in a deeper, more meaningful way.

✔ Much more than just asanas - create a holistic practice from the outside in and the inside out.

✔ The philosophy, psychology and physiology behind yoga.

✔ The confidence and knowledge to get the most out of both your personal practice, and guided classes.

✔ Super cool stuff about your mind-body connection that’s easy to understand - but more importantly easy to use.

ALL THE AWESOME THINGS YOU’LL LEARN:

YTT topics just without the teaching.

I’ve chosen specific topics from my 200 hour yoga teacher training that will have the biggest impact on your personal practice. No teaching, exams or business talk, just a deep-dive into information you can immediately apply both on and off your yoga mat.

Instead of treating these topics as separate subjects, we’ll weave them together and build upon each one as we move through the course. Why? Because yoga is a vast and multi-dimensional practice, and connecting the dots helps you see the bigger picture and enjoy more benefits.

THIS IMMERSION IS FOR YOU IF…

* This training counts as 50 hours of continuing education with Yoga Alliance.

BUT IT’S NOT FOR YOU IF…

I HAVE THREE MAIN GOALS WHEN TEACHING THIS TRAINING:

For you to fall in love with yoga all over again (and again, and again).

I want to help you create a more meaningful connection to the practice - both on and off your yoga mat.

White number one on a dark circle background

To move your practice beyond the postures.

This isn’t just about asana - it’s about learning how to integrate yoga into your life with intention and awareness. Uncover new layers by exploring the philosophy, physiology and psychology behind the practice.

White number 2 on a dark gray circular background.

To have fun while doing it!

Yoga is really important, but that doesn’t mean it has to be so serious. I believe playfulness, laughter and curiosity are the best ways to learn.

THE TEACHING TEAM

Meet Jess and Louise.

I’m Jess and I’ll be your main teacher throughout the immersion. Teaching yoga brings me joy, and I can’t wait to share it with you - helping you connect to your body, mind and breath in a more meaningful way.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I want to help you discover what resonates with you personally - there’s no cookie-cutter method here. This means no black-and-white thinking, rigid rules, or “right” answers - just curiosity, playfulness, and lots of lightbulb moments.

I’ll be guiding most of the classes and content, but I have beautiful Louise by my side. She’ll be sharing her love of yoga with you too, as well as workshops, guided practices and soothing sound baths.

WHAT STYLE OF YOGA WILL YOU PRACTICE?

I’m not a fan of labels.

This immersion is all about exploring yoga without being boxed into one style or approach. We’ll explore themed practices that can be powerful, or calming, or anything in between. The focus is on giving you a strong foundation, but one that’s flexible enough to cater to your personal style.

Working with a theme rather than a style means that each practice can truly teach you something. Instead of instructing you through a series of shapes, we’ll sequence the sessions around a philosophical topic, a particular element, or a specific anatomical focus. It provides an opportunity for greater depth, exploration and learning - which is exactly what you’re there for.

Beyond asanas we’ll also explore meditation techniques and various pranayama (breathing) practices. Always delivered in an accessible way so you can continue to work with them once you’re home.

In the evenings you’ll get to enjoy some yin or restorative yoga, cosy classes, and deeply relaxing sound baths.

You’ll enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a light snack in the afternoon to keep you energised until the evening.
